Hridaya Yoga – the Yoga of the Spiritual Heart, is a beautiful and transformative practice, accessible for the modern lifestyle so open to all, whether you are a beginner or advanced yogi. Its main purpose is to enhance the connection back to the intuitive Self – the Spiritual Heart. The practice provides us with an opportunity to reach high states of awareness and deep inner states of consciousness for the awakening and blossoming of the Self. In this way we tune into the knowledge of the heart; the spirit of who we are. On this journey to discovering the depth of who we are, we unveil the possibility of living our lives with much more joy, peace, spontaneity, love and freedom.
The practice is based upon traditional principles and visions from classic yoga derived from Patanjali’s Sutras, Advaita Vedanta , Tantra and Shaivism. They are correlated with teachings from Sufism, Christianity , Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism thus making it an open minded, non-dogmatic, approachable practice for everyone.
The main methods used in Hridaya Yoga are:
- The Meditation for the Revelation of the Spiritual Heart through the method of Self Enquiry, including techniques for quieting the mind and for developing the capacity for concentration and a deeper sense of peace.
- Hridaya Hatha Yoga, where we merge all three bodies as one, (body, mind and consciousness) to journey to the Spiritual Heart; our true nature. The process allows us to release tension and trauma from the body, and let go of worries or psychological pressures that arise from everyday life. This is achieved by holding postures for some time, challenging ourselves, strengthening the mind, increasing will power, not to mention beautifully reshaping the whole body. We then connect deeply to the free flow of energies within our being, creating balance and harmony in the body which leads us gently to perceive the potential of our divine Self.
The purpose of these methods is to allow us to live at the very core of every moment, fully merging us with the present, thus taking us out of the mind and into the dwellings of the heart; where we profoundly connect with the Self.
When we live life from this space it flows effortlessly and opens us to amazing possibilities! Worries and tensions simply dissolve, the eyes start to glow and we begin to emanate positivity and love to all those around us.
